We correct malocclusions for a beautiful and healthy smile

Orthodontic treatment not only ensures a beautiful and even smile, but also helps prevent periodontal disease and increases the comfort of life.

Orthodontics is a specialization in the field of dentistry, dealing with the correction of malocclusions and malocclusions in the maxillofacial structure in both adult and paediatric patients. For this purpose, we use different types of devices, which are selected individually, taking into account the age and specific problems of the patient.

Orthodontic treatment Warsaw - why is it worth it?

Malocclusions not only affect the aesthetics of a smile, but also is often a source of problems with caries and periodontal disease. Correction of these irregularities allows you to restore comfort in terms of both appearance and functionality.

Improving facial aesthetic

Tooth alignment not only affects the aesthetics of the smile, but also the overall appearance of the entire face. Orthodontic treatment allows you to correct deformities caused by abnormal development of the jaw or teeth and maintain the regularity of facial features.

Prevention of oral diseases

People with improper dental alignment, due to difficulties in maintaining oral hygiene, resulting from hard-to-reach interdental spaces that accumulate plaque, are at a higher risk of caries and periodontal disease.

Greater chewing comfort

Correct bite has a beneficial effect on the proper functioning of the chewing process, which translates into greater comfort of eating, as well as better digestion of food, which prevents diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

Orthodontic treatment Warsaw

visible changes in just a few months

At Dental Medicenter, we offer fixed and removable braces as part of orthodontic treatment in Warsaw. The appropriate method of correcting teeth and occlusions is chosen based on precise diagnostics, which includes digital and X-ray images and taking impressions of the teeth or scanning the dentition. This allows us to create virtual diagnostic models and accurately plan the most optimal treatment, tailored to the patient’s needs.

There is no age limit in orthodontic treatment, and it can be started at any time of life. However, it is recommended that the first check-up visit be held at the age of 5-6 years – or even earlier, if necessary. A visit to the orthodontist will allow you to assess whether the developing bite is normal and possibly suggest appropriate treatment. Thanks to modern methods of bite correction, visible effects can be achieved after just a few months.

Fixed braces

Fixed braces are used in patients who already have their permanent teeth, and whose poor alignment has led to the formation of a malocclusion. The main feature of these devices is that they are permanently inserted in the patient's mouth and it is not possible to remove them as is the case with removable devices. The main and most visible element of the fixed braces are locks, which are glued to the teeth with specialised, very strong adhesives, as the name suggests, they are permanently attached to the teeth throughout the treatment period. In order for the brackets to be able to move the tooth in the right direction, a special arch (wire) is attached to them, which, depending on the type of appliance, is either held in place by elastics (ligatures) or the bracket itself is designed in such a way that the need for these elastics is eliminated. Fixed braces allow very precise movement of teeth in the dental arch. They are used in both children and adult procedures.

Removable braces

The name of the removable braces (or retainers) results from the possibility of removing them from the mouth by the patient without the help of an orthodontist. Most braces of this type are used for children and adolescents during the growth period and the wearing of the braces itself is intended to help with the proper growth and positioning of the emerging permanent teeth. The orthodontist, after ordering the necessary diagnostic tests, designs and has the orthodontic laboratory make the type of braces that is appropriate for the case. The patient uses such a device independently, adjusting it according to the doctor's instructions. Every few weeks, a follow-up visit is necessary to check that the braces are functioning properly and that we are achieving the intended results by correcting their settings and checking the condition and position of the teeth. Wearing removable braces requires a great deal of discipline and awareness on the part of both the child and the parent. Only full cooperation with the orthodontist and compliance with his recommendations regarding the use of the braces, hygiene and diet gives the intended treatment effects.

Invisalign overlays

For patients who are particularly interested in discreet and comfortable orthodontic treatment, we offer an innovative method using transparent, silicone overlays that do not have any metal elements, just like traditional fixed braces. They are almost imperceptible, making them an ideal solution for those who cannot afford a highly visible camera. Invisalign
overlays are made individually for each patient on the lower and upper dental arch. Their number and shape are precisely adjusted so that the teeth are gradually moved to the correct position by exerting pressure. They can be removed, for example, while eating or brushing your teeth. This makes them easier to use and allows you to maintain an appropriate level of oral hygiene.
Invisalign is a proven and very precise method of tooth correction, but in order to achieve the expected results, remember to wear them at least 20 – 22 hours a day. The patient himself replaces the caps with new ones every 7, 10 or 14 days - depending on the doctor's instructions. Follow-up visits at the orthodontist are less frequent than when wearing traditional braces.
